The Backrooms |
The themes of this set of photos are fear, panic and the pressure of a time limit. I trapped some friends in the backrooms and together we escaped the labyrinth of sights, sounds, horrors, and secrets illuminated by crimson light. Special thanks to Angle and Moot for modeling in this photo shoot.

CCTE Photo (Cereal for Lunch)This photo's scenery is specifically inspired by the song "Season 2 Episode 3" By Glass Animals.
The vibrant colors are too much like eating sugary candy, so sweet that it doesn't taste good. The colors are meant to give off a candy vibe but is also meant to be a little hard to look at. Light and composition are the stronger aspects of this piece. |
Leave You Alone With Nothing
An abstracted storyline showcasing people who are comfortable with being alone and people who are not. The storyline itself is inspired by the song "Lovers Rock" by TV Girl. I wanted to make the abstraction more subtle like how the waves of heat radiate against a car. The story is shown through body language, perspective, color, and blurred segments, forcing the viewer to look at the characters and interpret their interactions and dynamic. |
MOPA Submission (Reflection Chamber)Exploration of the self and the face, exploration of the mind and the body. Who are you?
This photo was taken with an older camera from 2015, giving it a grainy look, distorting the photo naturally. The red and green pixels are also very prominent, helping the chromatic distortion. The lighting is dull and sickly, reminiscent of a hospital according to some people. That unsettling feeling of a hospital and that one should feel safe but is not is also a theme I wanted to emphasize. |
High Priestess
Dark Room Wash with hand carved stamps.
Social pressure is something everyone has experienced and everyone has changed something about themself at least once to be liked by their peers. It is just a cruel part of human nature.

Three Photos, Three Lenses
You're No Good For Me |
Composit |
An illustration created based on photos taken of another student. I've used primary colors and a harsh contrast as one figure stands faceless and another faces the sky as stars begin to be mottled away from the black. She fails to capture the moment as her world fades away into nothing.
Photo taken without a bounce
Edges of the Frame Composition PracticeDistant EntropyI feel the composition is good and utilizes leading lines well but I feel there could have been more negative space and the hand on the right could've been lowered so it does not clash with the trees.
Leading Lines |
Photo taken with a bounce.
Unrequited LoveThe lighting could've been better on the legs and shoes and the image quality could have been better so it is less grainy and pixelated.
The collection of leading lines photos that I've titled "Behind Bars"allowed me to learn to balance my photos and analyze the angles to produce the result I was looking for. Although they were difficult to find, I like the results of the final product but I prefer the shots towards the sky because it adds a nice negative space.
